Digital X-Ray

Our office is one of the few in our area that has digital radiography, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available — complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.  Complete dentures can be either “conventional” or “immediate.” Made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has begun to heal, a conventional denture is ready for placement in the mouth about eight to 12 weeks after the teeth have been removed. Unlike conventional dentures, immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed.

A removable partial denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.

IV and Oral Sedation

Many patients choose to utilize our sedation services to help make their dental visit a comfortable one.  It is especially beneficial for those who suffer from extreme dental fear. Both our oral and IV sedation options are a “conscious” sedation, which means that you are able to respond to verbal commands but are usually not alert enough to remember the procedure. Both types of sedation require a trusted driver and caregiver to be present to take you home after your procedure, as you will not be cleared to drive for a full 24 hours following.  IV sedation requires a Dental H&P exam to ensure that you are a good, healthy candidate for this specific method, and the exam must be completed at least 2 days prior to your dental visit. Oral sedation requires a review of your medical history and medications and vitals. All patients undergoing any kind of sedation must come NPO status (nothing by mouth or nothing to eat or drink. NPO status is as follows:

Oral Surgery

We perform oral surgery services such as, simple extractions, wisdom teeth removal, and full mouth extractions. Oral or IV sedation is available to help make you more comortable during these procedures.

Wisdom teeth, otherwise known as third molars, are the last set of teeth to develop. Sometimes these teeth emerge from the gum line and the jaw is large enough to allow room for them, but most of the time, this is not the case. More often, one or more of these third molars fails to emerge in proper alignment or fails to fully emerge through the gum line and becomes entrapped or “impacted” between the jawbone and the gum tissue. Impacted wisdom teeth can result in swelling, pain, and infection of the gum tissue surrounding the wisdom teeth. In addition, impacted wisdom teeth can cause permanent damage to nearby teeth, gums, and bone and can sometimes lead to the formation of cysts or tumors that can destroy sections of the jaw. Therefore, it is recommended that people with impacted wisdom teeth have them surgically removed.

Insurance Info and Financing Options

Regarding dental insurance, it is important to remember that it is designed mainly for preventive care. That is why the yearly allowable and the percent of reimbursement is low. Allowable maximum benefits typically range from $1000.00 to $1500.00 yearly. Though your plan may carry a brand name that is well known,  it does not mean that all coverage under that insurance brand is the same. All plans differ, so for specific information about your dental plan coverage please refer to your handbook.  If you need assistance feel free to contact us. We do accept most insurances, but please call our office to be sure we are a provider for your specific insurance carrier.

Many times we receive inquiries about financing options here in our clinic. We do not offer in house payment plans, but we welcome you to apply for a credit line through one of the two credit agencies we use below:
