Dr. Brent Boyett, DMD, DO, DFASAM, brings over three decades of expertise to the fields of family medicine, dentistry, and addiction medicine. Raised in Lamar County, Alabama, he completed his undergraduate education at Birmingham-Southern College before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1994.
While working in dentistry during summers and weekends, he pursued further studies at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine (now Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences), graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree in 1998. He then completed a three-year Family Medicine Residency at the University of Mississippi in Tupelo in 2001, with an emphasis on internal medicine, anesthesia, and oral surgery.
Dr. Boyett began his dental practice in Marion County, Alabama, in 1994 and established his medical practice in Hamilton, Alabama, in 2001. He served the residents of Marion County and surrounding areas with comprehensive medical and dental services until 2019, when he transitioned from private practice to focus exclusively on treating and researching addiction disorders.
Today, Dr. Boyett is employed by North Mississippi Health Services at the North Mississippi Regional Pain Consultants and Neuroscience Institute, where he specializes in addiction medicine, pain management, and innovative treatments. He treats all forms of substance use disorders, including alcohol, opioids, stimulants, nicotine, and more, using medication-assisted recovery and a biopsychosocial model for lasting wellness.
